On PosterGraphs

Over the years a debate has been in the background as to whether Photography is, or is not, an art form.

In my recent work I have looked at ways to slightly adjust the image from the strictly photographic to a softer, more imaginative form of presentation.

Influenced by the poster art of the 1920s and 1930s , I have tried to introduce the mystique and make-believe of that period and, in so doing, create a more individual form of expression. I call these images PosterGraphs.

As to whether my work can be considered art, that is for the viewer to decide. For me the ongoing hunt for subject matter and the final production of these images is a lovely adventure, one which I hope will give the viewer as much enjoyment.
