She was, until June 2013, Associate Professor of Victorian Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington, and remains an Emeritus Professor of that department. With David, as members of the Magic Lantern Society of the United States and Canada, she hosted and directed that society’s bi-enniel Convention, in Bloomington, in 2011. A film historian with a particular love for 1920s cinema, she has worked at Gosfilmofond (Russian State Film Archive), interned at the Austrian Filmmuseum, and been a visiting scholar at the Brandenburg Centre for Media Studies (Potsdam) before joining the Kent MOMI team in 2020. Her research focuses on interwar film circulation, censorship, and exhibition practices.
